BUKIT MERTAJAM

Police arrested 26 youths, including five secondary school students – the youngest of whom is a 15-year-old girl – who were found high on drugs inside a rented apartment in Prai here.

The other four students, aged 16 and 17, comprised three girls and a boy.

They were found in the living room with the rest of the group, which also included two college students.

Central Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the 15 males and 11 females, all below 23 years of age, tested positive for drugs following their arrest at 11am on Sunday.

“On the dining table were three Erimin 5 pills, two plastic bags containing white powder believed to be ketamine, and plastic plates and straws believed to have been used to inhale the drugs,” ACP Nik Ros Azhan said.

“We checked the male suspects and found a plastic bag containing a pill marked with an ‘S’ on one of them.

“Our investigations showed the drugs were brought in by a 20-year-old who works as a mechanic.

“He obtained the drugs from a dealer nicknamed ‘Boss’ a few hours before the drug party,” he said, adding that the group is believed to have organised several similar parties in the past.

ACP Nik Ros Azhan added that the group, which called itself “Group Goyang Kuk”, rented the apartment for RM300 a night as a place for them to get high.

“A police party raided the apartment following a tip-off,” he said.

They have since been remanded for four days pending investigations under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
