Two families from the Belait District received gifts yesterday after their babies were born on the National Family Day 2016.

An event was held at the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital yesterday to welcome the two babies.

The first child is a girl who was born on 10.44am and weighed 3.370kg. She is the fourth child of Dayang Nur Melati Rosli and Awang Sufian bin Amit.

A baby boy was also born, weighing 2.670kg. He is the fourth child of Dayang Nurul Farhana binti Mahidi and Awang Haji Mohd Sahali Azlan bin Haji Sidup.

Present to hand over the gifts comprising baby necessities to the families was the wife to the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Hajah Kalshom binti Haji Suhaili.

After the presentation, the event moved from the ward to the lecture theatre where the babies' birth were further celebrated with Dikir Marhaban by the staff members of the hospital and other government officials.
