The Committee for the Official Opening of Sungai Kebun Bridge, the Decorated Floats and Boats Procession and Fireworks Display welcomes all levels of the society as well as citizens and residents in the country to enliven the Official Opening of the Sungai Kebun Bridge and the Decorated Floats and Boats Procession and Fireworks Display in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne. The event will be held today, 14th of October at 7.30 in the evening at the vicinity of the Tarindak D'seni Building in Bandar Seri Begawan.

In this regard, the public is welcome to be present along roads where the Decorated Floats and Boats Procession and Fireworks Display will be held such as along the Royal Wharf, Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Jetty Drop point and the Eco-Corridor Park. Roads in the capital will be open as usual. The public is advised to make full use of car park facilities by taking safety measures and not disrupting public paths or routes for emergency.

A number of activities are provided such as games and bouncers for children and vending booths. The public is also urged to maintain cleanliness and make use of rubbish bins provided. The public is also reminded that prayer facilities are also provided for the night's event namely the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Musollah at the Royal wharf, suraus at buildings such as the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, Tarindak d' Seni building and the festive stalls in front of the Royal regalia Building. As a safety measure, the public, specifically road and boat users, are reminded to always be alert and abide by the rules, especially water taxi users who are all required to use safety jackets.

In this regard, the Sungai Kebun Bridge will be closed throughout the event to accommodate the fireworks. The public is advised to stay 250 meters clear of the said area throughout the fireworks display for the safety of all. Water taxi drivers are also advised to stay 250 meters clear of the said area and will not be allowed to pass the routes for the decorated floats and boats procession throughout the event.
