Seventy-nine students of Nusa Laila Puteri School in Jangsak yesterday attended a briefing to instil the spirit of nationalism.

The briefing was organised at the school by the Information Department through the Nationhood Unit, Division of Nationhood and Community.

The Assistant Information Officer, Awang Eddy Iswandy bin Haji Ismail, spoke on the proper way to hoist the national flag and the history of the national anthem.

The Year 8 students also watched a video presentation on 'waving the national flag with pride' and participated in the nationalism quiz.

The briefing concluded with the presentation of prizes to students who answered a quiz correctly, as well as a token of appreciation for Eddy Iswandy.

The programme is part of the Information Department's efforts to instil the spirit of patriotism which includes showing respect and appreciating the national flag and anthem.

Another objective is to nurture a sense of love towards the nation, people, religion and the monarch.
