The Dusun Community Pakatan Sang Jati (PSJD) of Kampong Bukit Udal in Tutong celebrated the Adau Gayoh festival to mark the end of the rice harvesting season and to show gratitude for a good harvest.
Residents from all over the country flocked to the PSJD Community Hall to participate in the celebration that included traditional music and cultural performances.
Chairman of the event, Imbon bin Singgoh, said the celebration's theme was "finis Aab Piamoh' (Generation With A Vision), which is also the National Day's theme.
"During Adau Gayoh, people visit houses of friends and relatives to celebrate the occasion," said Imbon.
In attendance as guest of honour was YB Orang Kaya Maha Bijaya Awang Haji Othman bin Uking, a member of the Legislative Council, who officiated the event by pulling the strings of the traditional kelating; a device made of bamboo that produces a loud noise to scare away pests such as monkeys.
