Brunei Darussalam is now known as a country with a high standard of living in comparison to developed countries especially in the ASEAN region. In the field of communications and transportation specifically, the Ministry of Communications play a major role in providing facilities and encouraging human, goods and services movements. It also a vital aspect that should be understood in depth as the foundation to economic and social development, especially in the context of preparing the country towards Wawasan 2035. The Minister of Communications underscored the matter in the Exclusive Interview with RTB through the Documentary titled "Kepimpinan Berkat Darussalam, Kementerian Perhubungan, in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne.

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat also explained about the achievement of the communications system through air, sea and land transportation, the ports, postal services, meteorology and ICT. Among the matters highlighted is the Land Transport Department. According to Yang Berhormat, currently the Land Transport Department is implementing a public transportation system development project specifically to enhance the connectivity and reliability of public transportation through the expansion of the public bus service coverage which will contribute to the increase in the country's economy. Yang Berhormat added that other infrastructures provided such as roads and bridges connecting areas and districts in the country, are symbolic of the country's progressive development to facilitate the people of Brunei Darussalam in carrying out their day-to-day activities.
