More than 900 students of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Primary School yesterday attended the opening ceremony for its English and Social Studies Month, themed `Entrepreneurial Day', which took place at the school's multipurpose hall.

 

Officiating the ceremony was the guest of honour and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the YSHHB Secondary School, Awang Noorhaizamdin bin Haji Mohd Mosbi.

 

Present at the event were the grandchildren of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khaki Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam - Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Abdul Hafeez bin Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Raihaanah Hanaa-ul Bolqiah binti Pengiran Anak Khairul Khalil.

 

Also in attendance were the grandchildren of His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah - Pengiran Wajeeh Al-Bolkiah bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad Hakimmuddin and Pengiran Qaiyimah Nurul Bolkiah binti Pengiran Haji Mohammad Hakimmuddin; the grandchildren of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah -Pengiran Anak Adrian Haziqah Jaida Bulqiah binti Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Ali Yil-Kabier and Pengiran Anak 'Abdul Muta'ali Haziq Hamidullah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Ali Yil-Kabier; the grandchildren of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassadorat-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MoFAT) - Pengiran Nur Aabidah Syifa binti Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar, Pengiran Nur Aleeyah Syifa binti Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Al-Mokhtar, and other members of the royal family.

 

The ceremony began with performances of the national anthem 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and the school's song, which was followed by a Doa recitation by Ustaz Noorhashim bin Kassim, prior to welcoming remarks from the Acting Headmaster of YSHHB Primary School, Awang Alimas bin Haji Mohd Ali.

 

The event then saw the launching of the English and Social Studies Month by the guest of honour.

 

Throughout the day, students of different levels also took part in numerous activities, accompanied by their respective supervising teachers.

 

The month programme's objectives are to promote and enhance skills in the English language among the school's students, to create opportunities for them to interact more verbally as well as to inculcate values entrepreneurship within them through fun and interesting activities.
