Present as the guest of honour to present the certificates and plaques was the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Rosela n bin Haji Mohamad Daud.

The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by welcoming remarks delivered by Awang Haji Hamdan bin Ajak, Co-chairperson of White Cane Charity Run 2016.

In his speech Haji Hamdan expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all those involved in the event, especially officers and staff of the Department of Co-Curriculum Education, Ministry of Education.

The dinner was organised by the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB) to show their appreciation to the government and private agencies, sponsors as well as volunteers who have made the charity run a big success.

The charity run, themed 'Even without vision, there is still a goal', aimed to raise awareness of visually-impaired special needs individuals that they too are capable of performing creative activities.

It was also held to collect donations from the public and participants to create a fund for BDNAB to cover the expenses for special needs supplies such as white canes, brailler, embosser and other equipment.
