Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in history to score a goal in each of the six Champions League group games, with the second against Dortmund on Wednesday night.
Ronaldo picked up the ball from Mateo Kovacic on the edge of the Dortmund penalty area, and bent an unstoppable 20-yard shot to the net past a motionless Roman Burki for his ninth goal already in the competition this season.
With the Portugal captain having scored in all Madrid's previous games -- in the first meeting with Dortmund, and home and away against both Tottenham and APOEL Nicosia -- he set another new personal record as no player had ever found the net in all six group games before.
Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar also went into the final set of games with a chance to set this achievement, however the Brazilian was held scoreless as his side lost 3-1 at Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
Ronaldo's strike put Madrid 2-0 ahead on the night, with young forward Borja Mayoral having opened the scoring with a well taken clip over Burki with just eight minutes played. Dortmund came back but Real held on as Lucas scored late to hand them a 3-2 win.
The goal for Ronaldo also took him to 114 career goals in 146 Champions League games -- another of his personal records. And came just 24 hours before he is widely expected to pick up a fifth Ballon D'Or award in Paris.
The 32-year-old's UCL hot streak contrasts with his form in La Liga where he has only scored twice in 10 appearances so far in 2017-18.
