The relegation battle took another turn as Sunderland completed a wonderful comeback to beat Chelsea and Newcastle drew, while Norwich lost to Man United. West Ham's defeat to Swansea saw them slip five points behind in the race for a top four spot.
Sunderland picked up an incredible 3-2 win over Chelsea at the Stadium of Light after coming from behind twice.
Diego Costa slotted under Vito Mannone to give the Blues the lead in the 14th minute but Wahbi Khazri's wonder strike saw the Black Cats equalise before the half. The Tunisian gave Thibaut Courtois no chance with a fantastic volley from outside the box after a poor clearance from Gary Cahill.
However, Nemanja Matic put Chelsea ahead again seconds before the whistle below as he broke and latched on to an Cesar Azpilicueta header before rolling the ball under Mannone.
Sunderland would not lie down, though, and in the 67th minute the ball was pulled back to Fabio Borini from the byline; the striker took one touch and drilled a powerful strike past Courtois to make it 2-2.
Then, three minutes later, Jermain Defoe netted a sharp finish to complete a wonderful comeback before John Terry was sent off late on for a second yellow card -- which means he is suspended for both games left in the season.
Sunderland are outside the relegation zone and go four points clear of Norwich and one ahead of Newcastle with a game in hand on their local rivals. A win over in Everton in midweek would seal their place in the Premier League next season and send both Norwich and Newcastle down.
Newcastle could not overcome already-relegated Aston Villa as they were held to a 0-0 draw.
Jack Colback wasted the best chance of the game shortly after the break as he blazed an effort over the bar. Aleksandar Mitrovic also went very close to breaking the deadlock with a header.
The result leaves them one point behind Sunderland and safety, but having played a game more.
There were emotional scenes at the King Power Stadium as Claudio Ranieri's Leicester City proved why they are worthy title-winners of this season's Premier League with a 3-1 win over Everton.
Jamie Vardy continued his form by scoring Leicester's first goal, converting Andy King's cross in the fifth minute. King to netted in the 33rd minute himself before a Vardy penalty made it 3-0.
Everton managed to claw a goal back in the 88th minute thanks to Kevin Mirallas, but it clearly wasn't going to be enough to do anything more than tarnish a near-perfect victory lap for the Foxes.
Manchester United's bid for Champions League football remains alive after a 1-0 win in the early kickoff at Carrow Road which saw Norwich slip closer to Premier League relegation.
Wayne Rooney provided the assist for Juan Mata to punish Sebastien Bassong's error as United moved within one point of neighbours Manchester City, who play Arsenal on Sunday.
Swansea picked up a fine 4-1 win over West Ham after two goals in the first 31 minutes saw the Hammers' European hopes hit.
The Swans took the lead as Wayne Routledge beat the offside trap to get on the end of an early low cross from six yards out, before Stephen Kingsley's fine low pass found Andre Ayew in the 31st minute to double the lead.
It was 3-0 shortly after the break as good work from Modou Barrow saw Ki Sung-Yeung volley home and, though Diafra Sakho struck one back, Bafetimbi Gomis netted again on the break in the final minute.
West Brom were held to a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth after a late goal from Matt Ritchie.
A cross from the left hand side saw Salomon Rondon muscle Steve Cook out of the way and get his head on the ball to steer it home for the Baggies in the 16th minute.
West Brom then had a penalty after pulling in the box but Craig Gardner's effort was stopped by Artur Boruc. The Pole got a hand to the effort before getting up to block the rebound superbly.
However, West Brom could not add to their tally and Ritchie popped up with an 83rd minute equaliser.
Stoke lost a one-goal lead to fall to a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Charlie Adam opened the scoring when Marco Arnautovic slipped the ball through to him to slot home and they held on until half-time, but Dwight Gayle equalised soon after the break following a wonderful run from Yannick Bolasie.
Gayle struck again from a freekick to seal an incredible turnaround and move his side onto 42 points.
