Introducing the categories of People with Special Needs, its role, challenges faced by People with Special Needs, and skills that they can contribute to the society were among the matters discussed between the People with Special Needs Welfare Council, MKOKU and the Youth Volunteers Council in a dialogue session yesterday morning at Pusat Bahagia in Kampung Pulaie.
The dialogue session, organised by the Community Development Department (JAPEM) with the cooperation of the Youth and Sports Department, was held in conjunction with the International Day of Disabled Persons, and the International Volunteers Day. In attendance was Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash'ari, Legislative Council member who is also the Chairperson of the Society for Community Outreach and Training SCOT Green Xchange. This year's for International Day of Disabled Persons was 'Transformation towards Sustainability and Resilient Society for All', while the theme for this year's International Volunteers Day was 'Volunteers Act First. Here. Everywhere.' The result of the dialogue session is hoped to create a commitment declaration between both parties.
