Visit To Flood Affected Areas ​

The government continues to take steps to ensure the welfare of people affected by the recent floods or flash floods at several areas in the country.  At the same time, people living in low-lying areas which are prone to floods should increase their preparedness from time to time as well as to take safety measures. They are also reminded to avoid from carrying out activities such as swimming or bathing in flood areas to avoid any unwanted incidents. Yesterday morning, the respective agencies took a closer look at the flood situation and its aftermath at affected areas in Tutong District.

 

 

 

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, the Acting Minister of Home Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, the Acting Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports took a closer look at the flood situation in the district. The delegation were firstly briefed on the latest flood situation.

 

 

 

Kampung Penapar; Layong; Panchong; Kuala Ungar and Kampung Rambai are among the flood affected areas. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abd Wahab bin Apong, Member of the Legislative Council as the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya; Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, Member of the Legislative Council as the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai; Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs; Awang Haji Amer Hamzah bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Zakaria, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Awang Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, Tutong District Officer.
