IET Brunei Network organised Technical Visit to Sungai Kebun Bridge
Participants comprises from IET Member, UTB and Politeknik Student Chapters, Consultants, PUJA Members and PWD Departments Officers and the Daelim engineers at the Sungai Kebun Bridge.

SUNGAI KEBUN, BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Brunei Network organised a technical visit to Sungai Kebun Bridge last Saturday 26 March 2016.
There were altogether 32 participants comprises of IET Members, UTB and Politeknik student chapters, consultants and PUJA Members attended the visit with its objective to learn the technology, materials being used in constructing the bridge.
The IET visit was welcomed by Awang Haji Mazlan bin Haji Abd Salim, Acting Senior Executive Engineer of Road Department who also briefed the participants about the development of the bridge from its initial stage until the current construction progress of the bridge.
Whereas Awang Haji Mohamad Haji Tuah, Project Engineer for Sungai Kebun Bridge led the participants to the construction sites to have a closer look of the bridge and get a chance to view how the stay cable being installed and the cover being cut and joint using special tools.
The Sungai Kebun Bridge is one of the new landmark for Brunei Darussalam that connect Bandar Seri Begawan to Mukim Lumapas set to be the World’s Second longest 300-metre 1-pylon concrete cable stayed bridge.
The project is being built by a joint venture of Swee Sdn Bhd and South Korea’s Daelim Industrial.
