Winners Feted at the Conclusion of Interschool Badminton Competition

BERAKAS, BRUNEI-MUARA

 

Nine Zone II Secondary Schools and a Sixth Form Centre competed in the finals of the Interschool Badminton Competition co-organised by Lambak Kiri Secondary School and the Co-Curriculum Education Department, at the Sports School Sports Complex yesterday which started on May 9.


The guest of honour presiding over the event was Nudin bin Haji Mohammad, the Deputy Director of Department of Schools under the Ministry of Education, who also presented the winners with trophies and medals.


Trophies were awarded for the different categories that comprised of Group B which was for the under-15, doubles and singles for males and females, as well as for the senior grouping - Group C for the under-18.


Winning the Male Doubles in first place for Group B were Md Shahrum bin Musa and Ryan Shahiran bin Mohd
Yussof from Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School, while Siti Ayuni Hamizah binti Hamdi and Nurul Hetty Shamimie binti Daim from Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary School in Mentiri bagged first place for the Female Doubles.


For the Male Singles, first place went to Akmal bin Bujang from Rimba Secondary School, and Siti Ayuni Asyura binti Hamdi bagged the Female Singles' first place.


Meanwhile in Group C, Md Faqih Fadillah bin Md Remmey and Awangku Amiruddin bin Pengiran Muzidan as well as Hing Wil Wei @ Shirley and Norandiayati binti Abdullah from Berakas Secondary School placed first in Male Doubles and Female Doubles respectively.


Group C's Male Singles' first place later went to Haji Md Zulazmi bin Suhardy from Sayyidina Abu Bakar Secondary School, while the Female Singles went to Ayu Nurfazzirra binti Abdul Rahman from Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna Secondary School.
