Over 13 million, 256 thousand dollars was proposed for the Department of Energy and Industry's budget allocation, while another 128 million 722 thousand was proposed for the Department of Electrical Services for the Financial Year 2018-2019. While presenting the proposal, Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md Hussein, Minister of Energy and Industry underlined the targets for the two departments.

According to Yang Berhormat, in matters pertaining to the Electrical Services, the department has enhanced the energy reliability including reduction of power supply disruptions by 76 percent since 2010. The target for 2018 is to reduce by 81 percent by carrying out power supply infrastructure maintenance works in a more efficient and organised manner. Meanwhile for industrial sector linked to economic development and a conducive business ecosystem, Brunei Darussalam's ranking in the World Bank's Doing Business 2018 report has climbed to 56th out of 190 economies. Efforts will be continued so that all reformations carried out will directly impact entrepreneurs.
