Therefore, the Ministry of Home Affairs is seeking cooperation from the public to immediately report to the Labour Department if any companies issued with employment agency licences failed to fulfil the main conditions stipulated so that further actions can be taken. The issue of bringing in domestic helpers was among the matters raised by Yang Berhormat, Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman @ Othman.

In response to the query, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong said the Labour Department has issued a tender for any companies that are interested to bring in domestic helpers for one thousand 500 dollars. 10 companies have submitted their tenders, which was closed in December last year. The Labour Department has interviewed all participating companies based on 6 criteria's, including experience on the process and legal knowledge, company's preparedness and accountability in fulfilling main conditions. From the interviews, 8 companies have the potential to be awarded licences to bring in domestic helpers at the stipulated price. The Minister added that the Labour Department is in the final process to appoint the said companies, depending on the companies' efficacy to implement specific requirements such as preparing business premises, paying the deposit and others in a specific period. The Labour Department will then disseminate information to the public pertaining to the appointed companies through the mass media.
