The Department of Economic Planning and Development at the Prime Minister's Office will continue to carry out thorough monitoring to ensure the NDP projects are implemented according to the schedule and allocations that have been approved. The Second Minister of Finance also explained on several measures taken in implementing the projects according to the set period.

According to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dr Awang Haji Mohammad Amin Liew, among the measures are, maximising and updating the NDP Project Management System for relevant agencies use, making schedule or surprise visits to project sites to ensure the physical progress meet the set period, ensuring the proposed allocations for every project including the work scope and specification are reviewed to avoid wastage and loss in the government's budget, as well as emphasising on the Value For Money and the sharing concept. Budget planning needs to be based on the Standard Rates for the cost of building construction or government projects in order for the projects are not over specified and function from the actual needs.
