The Minister of Home Affairs in his adjournment speech shared on the flow of Brunei money outside the country that has increased from year to year. According to Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, in 2017, Brunei money received by the Monetary Authority of Singapore, MAS, amounting to 1 point 403 billion Brunei dollars compared to the amount returned to MAS of 7 point 3-2 million Singapore dollars. Yang Berhormat Pehin also touched on the government effort to reduce a number of goods taxes, besides activating initiatives which are not only to attract foreign tourists but also to encourage Bruneians to spend locally. All the initiatives need support from all parties to give effective impact.

The Brunei people are also proud with the country's achievement in the Ease of Doing Business, where as a whole it has increased this year. Brunei is placed in the 56 position from 190 countries worldwide. With the achievement, the government hopes to attract more foreign investors to invest in the country. The government will continue in its effort to provide a conducive ecosystem to make Brunei Darussalam as FDI's attractive destination. It is also undeniable that the existence of these companies have contributed to the country's development and increase employments for locals. The country is also proud with the active involvement of youth in various community, religious, education, sports, entrepreneurial and volunteerism activities.
