Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Defence in his adjournment speech, outlined that the country's defence issue could not be compromised. It is a responsibility of all in ensuring the politics and economic development as well as the country's development agenda are running smoothly. The country's peace and prosperity are continuously attained and enjoyed especially when the country is actively moving in achieving Wawasan Negara 20-35.

 

Peace and development are the catalyst of nation's success. In charting the direction of the country's defence, the Ministry of Defence will diligently continue in giving focus to the use of allocation according to the needs and priority towards achieving the 'Key Result Areas' for the defence's development with the acronym 'IK ONE DAMAI'. I is for Integrity which means a strong integrity territory, K for capability and preparedness - the level of military capability and highly prepared, One is for Whole of Nation - upholding the country's approach to become Whole of Nation. D is diplomacy that is an effective defence diplomacy; A is for International - military participation in international missions; MA, for human - highly quality human resource and I stands for Image - a credible and respected defence image. With the wise and sovereign leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces have successfully places itself as the country's defence institution which is on par with the other armed forces regionally and internationally.
