Before adjourning the Legislative Council to a date that will be stipulated later, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council expressed gratitude as the country's citizens and residents are still able to enjoy the benefits and privileges given by His Majesty's government free-of-charge, despite the uncertain economic climate. Yang Berhormat Pehin also stressed the importance for all parties to empower the development of innovation which are organised and strategic as well as to maintain efforts to diversify the country's economy towards achieving development in various sectors which can generate the country's economy and change the country's landscape from being fully dependent on oil and gas.

Yang Berhormat Pehin also said that youth involvement is significant in our efforts to develop and empower the country's economy. Yang Berhormat Pehin said that our youths need to be trained in terms of their mentality in order to become credible leaders as they are the succeeding generation who will continue the legacy achieved today, and further elevate the name of and bring prosperity to our beloved Brunei Darussalam.
