Official Opening Of Gallery Exhibition

Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade yesterday morning officiated the Commemorative Gallery Exhibition themed 'His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam Visits to Oman in Portraits'. Organised by the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brunei Darussalam, the exhibition is held at the Royal Regalia Museum in the Capital.
Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al-Maskari, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
In his welcoming remarks, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al-Maskari, among other things expressed gratefulness that bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam have maintained a momentum of steady development. His Excellency added both countries share common interests in a wide range and broad space for cooperation.
Brunei Darussalam and the Sultanate of Oman established diplomatic ties on 24th March 1984, and has since enjoyed and achieved success in various areas of cooperation.
Her Royal Highness then officiated the gallery exhibition which is aimed at commemorating the resounding success achieved in bilateral relations of both countries over the course of 34 years, in light of the visits of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The exhibition features portraits of the monarch during His Majesty's previous visits to the Sultanate of Oman. The exhibition is open to the public until the end of May this year.
Among those present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Defence; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.
