The Youth Peer Programme organised the Information Department aimed to provide civic awareness and instil a spirit of nationhood in youths towards shaping a positive mind and morale. The programme is among the efforts to approach youths and teenagers in schools through guided entertainment art. It was held yesterday morning at the Muda Hashim Secondary School in Tutong.

Over 300 Year 7, 9 and 10 students attended the programme. The programme included a video clip presentation "Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara" and "Semarak Pengibaran Bendera" as well as an animation video clip "Tatacara Menaikkan Bendera Negara." It touched on topics such as the Monarch, flag hoisting procedures and the National Anthem. Among those present was Dayang Norasurah binti Haji Meludin, Head of Cluster 5 at Tutong District's Schools Department

Among the objective of the programme is to alert the youths at school on the current development, as well as to instil the spirit of nationhood among students. It is also hoped to shape students as agents in disseminating positive and effective information to their peers.
