The success of students is the result of their tireless efforts and support from their teachers, school administration as well as parents and guardians. Even though the world has much improved in the 21st century and made life quality better especially in the field of education, academic success should be balanced with individuality development. This is because a prosperous and developed nation does not solely depend on scholars, but also on those who have noble characteristics. This was highlighted by the Acting Director of Schools at the Certificate and Prize Presentation Ceremony for Academic Achievement in the BC-GCE 'O' Level Examination 2017, yesterday morning.
In her speech, Dayang Marina Chek binti Bujang stressed on the need for pre-university one students to equip themselves with a more mature attitude, independence, and high self-confidence in order to adapt to a different learning process. She added that students need to be proactive so that they will be more prepared in facing obstacles and challenges at the university level.
At the function, 283 students received their prizes and certificates. Out of the number, 35 received the Honourable Mentions Award. Dayang Lu Yi Xuan was presented with the Award for best in the BC-GCE 'O' Level examination with 6 A stars and 3 A's.
