Last night, in her speech at the Reception with the Singapore Community in Brunei Darussalam, the President of the Republic of Singapore said that Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore have fostered close cooperation in various fields including finance, education and health. The two countries, also share strong linkages at many different levels apart from the regular exchanges between the leaders and officials.

Her Excellency Halimah Yacob also expressed her satisfaction for the active contributions made by Singaporean Association in the country in numbers of community event. Also present was Her Excellency's spouse, Mr Mohamed bin Abdullah Alhabshee. Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore have established diplomatic relations since 1984. Also present at the reception was His Excellency Lim Hong Huai, Singapore's High Commissioner to the country.
