The Khatam Al-Quran, Tahlil and Doa Arwah ceremony organised by the Ministry of Education and departments under it was held at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD Mosque. The ceremony was conducted by the Curriculum Development Department, Information and Communication Technology Department and the Scholarship Division.

The ceremony began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education. The reading of Khatam verses and Takhtim were led by the ceremony's committee. Also in attendance were Datin Paduka Doctor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education; Datin Doctor Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrinah binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Vice Chancellor of UBD; Professor Doctor Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB; Doctor Haji Azman bin HAJI Ahmad, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education; Doctor Awang Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, UNISSA; and Dayang Nadia Lee Siew Hoon binti Abdullah, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. The ceremony was participated by more than 200 students from Rimba Secondary School, Rimba Dua Secondary School and Menglait Secondary School.
