The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and the departments under it, also held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. The function took place at the Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah mosque in Kampung Sungai Akar.

The function began with the presentation of endowment in the form of a printer by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism to Haji Syamsul Nizam bin Haji Badar, the Imam of the mosque.  Also present were Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism and Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohamad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the ministry.
