BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Islam encourages its ummah to cooperate or help each other to do good deeds and acts of piety because it can spur mutual respect and affection among them.  Giving sadaqah or alms is among the acts where one helps the needy as a way to endear oneself to Allah the Almighty.

Charitable acts, no matter how small will certainly be rewarded and blessed by Allah the Almighty as long as they are done sincerely.  Giving sadaqah is also an act of charity which is Sunnah or commendable as a way to express gratitude to Allah the Creator and to invoke blessings upon one's wealth.   Dayang Zati Hanani binti Dato Seri Setia Haji Rajid, Al-Minhaaj Centre Lecturer and Al-Huffaz Management Teacher said according the Messenger of Allah (Salallahu 'Alaihi Wassalam), giving alms in Ramadhan is the best sadaqah because doing so also invites allah's blessings and rewards in the form of wealth and income.

Giving sadaqah during Ramadhan will bring multiple rewards form Allah the Almighty.  Charitable acts will also enhance one's iman or faith besides helping the less fortunate or the needy.  In Brunei Darussalam, the caring attention given by the various government agencies, the private sector and non-government organisations or NGOs are clearly manifested in many charitable and welfare activities.  Giving sadaqah or alms fosters closer relations and rid one of arrogance.  Apart from that the needy would also supplicate that Allah would bless the people who help them with wealth, health and long life.
