Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors yesterday afternoon attended the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan 1439 Hijrah and the Closing of the 25-times Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony in conjunction with the Silver Jubilee of the establishment of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
Upon arrival at the Jame 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampung Kiarong His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence as Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dr. Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Second Minister of Finance as Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors as well as members of the Yayasan Committee of Governors.
The ceremony commenced with the reading of Takhtim Al-Quran by 25 readers comprising officers and staff of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. The 25 participants was headed by Dr Haji Samsul Muawan bin Haji Shodiq, a teacher at the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah School who also read the Doa Khatam.
Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, Syar'ie Chief Judge.
The ceremony coincided with the breaking of fast. Mass Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Dimuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murat.
Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was established on the 5th of October 1992 as the foundation of charitable deeds and contribution of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Majesty's family. It is the symbol of the Monarch's love and care towards the people, and acts as a facilitator for creating a peaceful and prosperous community.
