His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to bestow personal gifts to a total of 19 thousand 576 recipients of the underprivileged, comprising those with special needs, orphans, the poor and those who receive monthly welfare assistance in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri Celebration.

This is the ninth time of such ceremonies being held with the objective to alleviate the burdens of expenses borne by the unprivileged, especially with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebration, and also as a continuation of similar ceremonies held previously.

His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Bestowment of Personal Gift Ceremony to the underprivileged in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri 1439 Hijrah / 2018 is held for two days, involving all districts in the country.

Gracing the ceremony on the first day as the personal representatives of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang-Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for the Brunei Muara, Belait and Tutong District simultaneously were His Majesty's sons and daughters.

Gracing the presentation ceremony for the Belait District as the personal representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman.

The arrival of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah at Pusat Insani Hall, Seria were greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and wives.

The ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.

At the ceremony, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah consented to present the personal gifts of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to 2 thousand 452 recipients, comprising of those with special needs, orphans, the poor, and those who receive monthly welfare assistance.

The ceremony held yesterday reflects His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's continuous care and love for the well-being and welfare of His subjects and the citizens of Brunei Darussalam, especially to those who are in need.
