In recognition and appreciation of students who achieved excellence in the academic field, especially in public examinations, the Office of the Director General of Education, Ministry of Education with the cooperation of the Schools Department, Examinations Department, Private Education Division and Special Education Section as well as University of Cambridge International Examinations yesterday afternoon held the Ministry of Education's Excellent Students Awards 2017 ceremony.  The function took place at the Chancellor's Hall of University Brunei Darussalam.

In attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Jefriah binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and the sons and daughter of Her Royal Highness.

The awards to 265 students from primary and secondary schools, colleges and Government Sixth Form Centre and Private Education institutes in the country were presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, the Minister Of Education and Awang Ng Kim Huat, Representative of the Regional Director of Southeast Asia and Pacific Cambridge International Examinations.  Also present were Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, the Deputy Minister of Education and Doctor Haji Azman bin Haji Ahmad, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.
