​His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning made unscheduled visits to four Arabic education institutions in the capital. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School; Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School; Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School; and the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School.
His Majesty first visited the Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School at Jalan Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Dayang Hajah Sarimah binti Haji Ahmad, the school's Acting Principal.
Among the matters that came under the attention of His Majesty was the cleanliness of the school's cafeteria and kitchen.
The school has over 300 male and female Pre-University One and Two students. The school aims to produce excellent and competitive students for their well-being in this world and in the afterlife. The students undertake various subjects including Syariah and Usuluddin.
Apart from religious core education such as Al-Quran, Arabic Language, Fiqh and Tauhid, general core education is also given attention such as Malay and English Language, Mathematics, Science, and the Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB.
Arabic Schools made its mark in the country's history with the establishment of several Arabic schools in each district. His Majesty cares for Arabic school's teaching and learning by making several visits to several Arabic education institutions.
His Majesty then proceeded to visit the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Pengiran Hajah Radiah binti Pengiran Haji Muhammad Tahir, the school's principal.
With the aspiration to produce a generation who are educated, visionary and with noble values, the school has achieved 99 point 1 percent pass in last year's Primary School Assessment examination, PSR. This year, the school has one thousand 581 male students from Year 5 to 11, where 222 of them are newly enrolled Year 5 students.
His Majesty next visited the Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Dayang Sarimah binti Haji Ahmad, the school's Headmistress.
His Majesty received junjung ziarah from students, the school's teachers and staff. Since its establishment in 1984 to 1997, the school was placed under the management of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School. From the 1st of January 1997 until today, the school is administered by a Headmaster.
This year, the schools has over 600 female students in Year 5 and 6. Out of the figure, 282 of them are in Year 5. In last year's PSR examination, the school has achieved 100 percent pass.
His Majesty then visited the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School in Kampung Katok. Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Dayang Hajah Rusidah binti Haji Talip, the school's principal. This was the second time His Majesty visited the school since the 7th of June this year.
His Majesty then proceeded to a Muzakarah or discussion session with principals and headmasters from the 4 institutions. Throughout the visit, His Majesty was accompanied by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Offic, and Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, the Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.
The school has 136 teaching staff, and nearly one thousand 600 female students from Year 7 to Year 11. The school has outstanding achievements in the aspects of curriculum, as the school had a pass percentage of 95 point 8-9 percent in last year's Brunei Religious Education Certificate.
His Majesty's presence reflected the Monarch's care and attentiveness towards the country's education system, where education is one of the government's main concerns. During the visit, His Majesty also spent time mingling with the students.
