His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon, received in audience His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director-General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, I-SESCO. His Excellency and delegation is in the country for a four-day working visit. The Audience Ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

During the Audience Ceremony, His Majesty was awarded the Golden Medal of I-SESCO by His Excellency, in recognition of the support and commitment from His Majesty and Brunei Darussalam towards I-SESCO in the advancement of education, science and culture in Islamic nations. The golden medal of I-SESCO is the highest honour awarded by I-SESCO to head of states. Accompanying His Excellency was His Excellency Dr. Ahmad Said Bah, Director of External Relations and Cooperation, I-SESCO. Also present was Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education. I-SESCO is one of the international organisations with a key role in shaping cooperation among Islamic countries specifically in the fields of education, science and culture.
