His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam AND Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, yesterday afternoon watched the final of the Polo Tournament between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore in conjunction with His Majesty's 72nd birthday anniversary. His Majesty also consented to present prizes to the tournament's winning team. The match took place at the Royal Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong.

In the final match, His Majesty's son and daughter, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen and Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah, joining the Brunei Darussalam team, won with 9 - 7 in 6 Chukkas against the Singaporean team.

Also watching the match were His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah, AND Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna.

His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen scored two goals in the sixth chukka.

His Majesty consented to present souvenirs to the match referees.

His Majesty then consented to present prizes to the winners. The tournament was won by the Brunei Darussalam team, which was joined by His Majesty's son and daughter, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen and Her Royal Highness Princess 'Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah.

The runner-up went to the Singapore team while Philippines was placed third. This was followed by Malaysia in fourth and Pakistan in fifth place.

The tournament, organised by the Royal Brunei Polo Association, was participated by 5 countries namely Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam.
