The Grand Parade was followed by the Audience and Investiture Ceremony held at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Buana, Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohammed Alam attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, His Majesty conferred Brunei Darussalam State Decorations to Twenty-four recipients in conjunction with His Majesty's 72nd Birthday anniversary. The conferment of Brunei Darussalam State Decorations reflected His Majesty's appreciation to the contributions and services of each recipient in the various fields of national development.

 

Also present were His Majesty's sons and daughters as well as brothers and sisters;

 

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah,

 

 

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah,

 

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen,

 

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel,

 

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah AND Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah,

 

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah AND Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah,

 

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah,

 

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah,

- Also in-attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam as well as other members of the royal family.

 

Also present were His Majesty's special guest. Among them;

 

- Yang Amat Berhormat Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Shafie bin Haji Apdal, the Chief Minister of Sabah and wife,

 

- The Honourable Secretary Carlos Garcia Domingues the Third, Philippine's Secretary of Finance and wife;

 

- His Excellency Dr. H. Wiranto, Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs AND wife,

 

- His Excellency Desmond Lee, Singapore's Minister for Social and Family Development and the Second Minister in the Ministry of National Development AND wife.

 

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in a titah, stresses on the country's measures towards economic growth. His Majesty emphasises the obligation of all government agencies tasked with generating the economy.

 

In the titah, His Majesty highlights although the country's short and long term economic growth is forecast to be more active, let us not be complacent or satisfied because the economy is an element continues to be challenging. It is not wise to solely depend on the oil and gas sector because the economy is dynamic in nature and capable of more diverse growth.

 

Apart from agriculture, the country is also empowering the micro, small and medium enterprises.

 

The Monarch mentions there is a phrase which says, "Building An Environmental Friendly Town," but adds the country is more inclined towards, "Building An environmental Friendly Country", which means the whole of Brunei Darussalam should be clean and not simply the towns.

 

The Monarch says for Brunei Darussalam, apart from maintaining and enhancing the physical aspect, the spiritual side should not be neglected. In this regard, His Majesty emphasises that Brunei Darussalam never take education lightly.

 

His Majesty also touched on the country's policy at the international level.

 

At the ceremony, His Majesty conferred Brunei Darussalam State Decorations to 24 recipients. His Majesty first conferred The Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang, First Class, DPKT that carries the title Dato Paduka Seri to three recipients. They are:

 

- His Excellency Air Chief Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces;

 

- Major General Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of the RBAF, and

 

- His Excellency General Tarnchaiyan Srisuwan, the Chief of Defence of the Royal Thai Armed Forces.

 

The Most Gallant Order of Pahlawan Negara Brunei First Class, PSPNB that carries the title Dato Seri Pahlawan were conferred to:

 

- Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohammad Irwan bin Haji Hambali, the Deputy Commander of Police and

 

- Brigadier General Awang Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampuh, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force.

 

Eight were conferred The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, First Class, PSNB that carries the title Dato Seri Setia. They are:

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Dr. Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, the Second Minister of Finance;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, the Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, the Minister of Development;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Dr. Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md Hussein, the Minister of Energy and Industry;

 

- Yang Berhormat Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, the Minister of Education;

 

- AND Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, the Minister of Communications.

 

Meanwhile, five recipients were conferred The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei, First Class, SPMB that carries the title Dato Seri Paduka. The recipients including four deputy Ministers, are:

 

- The Honourable Justice Awang John Barry Mortimer, President of the Court of Appeal;

 

- Dato Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Deputy Minister of Finance;

 

- Dato Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, the Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry;

 

- Datin Dayang Hajah Elinda binti Haji C.A. Mohammad, the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office;

 

- and, Datin Paduka Doktor Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, the Deputy Minister of Education.

 

One recipient was conferred The Most Distinguished Order of Paduka Seri Laila Jasa, Second Class, DSLJ that carries the title Dato Seri Laila Jasa. The recipient is Justice Awang James Kerr Findlay, the Commissioner of the Supreme Court.

 

The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei, Second Class, D.P.M.B that carries the title Dato Paduka were conferred to three recipients. They are:

 

- Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pengiran Mohd Haji Jefri bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Hamid, the Acting Director of the Criminal Intelligence Department, Royal Brunei Police Force;

 

- Assistant Commissioner of Police Awang Haji Mohd Hassan bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, the Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, and

 

- Pengiran Haji Mohd Yussof bin Pengiran Haji Bahar.

 

The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, Third Class, SNB, were conferred to:

 

- Senior Police Superintendent Awang Husaini bin Haji Matzin

 

- And, Senior Superintendent of Police, Awang Haji Zaini bin Haji Abdul Rahim.

 

The Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

 

Also present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang, Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments.
