​There was much happiness and cheer during the Get-together and Junjung Ziarah ceremony with the rakyat or citizens and residents in Temburong District when His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the special tents and received the Junjung Ziarah from the people present. The joy and excitement reflected the strength of the Monarchial instituton in the country.

The presence of thousands of people from all walks of life in the Temburong District showed unity in expressing their love and loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam who has brought great success, progress and stability to the country.

Accompanying His Majesty during the Junjung Ziarah ceremony were His Majesty's sons and brothers;

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office,

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik;

His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah;

and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

Senior citizens were not to be left behind as they too came to add an atmosphere of affection and joy to the event. Their love for the Monarch whose leadership has brought continuous harmony, peace and security to the nation beckoned them to attend the gathering to convey their thanks to His Majesty.

The affectionate and cordial interaction between His Majesty and the people was evident. The happiness showed clearly on the people's faces as His Majesty mingled freely with them and received greetings of Happy Birthday Your Majesty from them. Among the attendees were the Khatam Al-Quran participants comprising villagers from Mukim Bangar, Bokok, Batu Apoi, Amo and Mukim Labu, uniformed organisations, associations and Non-governmental Organisations, NGOs, the private sector and members of the Neighbourhood Watch.

The residents of the Temburong District also prayed in gratitude to Allah the Almighty for the opportunity of celebrating the historic and significant event in peace and stability. His Majesty's wisdom has shaped Brunei Darussalam as a progressive country with stellar development in various fields that include religion, education, economy, health, infrastructure, welfare and security. This augurs well for the country's aspiration to accomplish the goals of Wawasan Brunei 2035.

Mingling and interacting closely with the people is not a new thing for His Majesty. The noble personality is one that His Majesty inherited from His Majesty's late father. Visiting villages and remote areas is not an uncommon thing to the Monarch. Most importantly, His Majesty often makes such visits upon hearing about His Majesty's subjects who are affected by disasters to ensure they receive the proper aid from the relevant agencies quickly.

Despite changing times, this unique tradition continue to maintain and further cement the solidarity and consensus of the people. The harmony displayed reflects the unity of the nation which not only contribute to peace but also the development of the country.

His Majesty's birthday celebration in the districts is organised to express the highest appreciation and thanks to His Majesty for His Majesty's leadership. The stability, tranquillity, socio-economic development as well as high quality of life qualify His Majesty's reign as the country's Golden Era.

To enliven His Majesty's 72nd birthday celebration, the Temburong District Level Governing Committee has organised a variety of events which highlight culture, religion and the people's economy. These include the festive stage performances and stalls.

His Majesty and the members of the Royal Family ended today's visit to the Temburong District by gracing a luncheon at the Temburong District Civic Centre. During the event, His Majesty consented to cut the Royal Birthday cake. The Doa Selamat was read by Awang Mohammad Shah bin Haji Taip, the District's Lower Shari'ah Court Judge.

Before leaving the ceremony, His Majesty and the members of the Royal Family received the Junjung Ziarah from His Majesty's Birthday Day Celebration Executive Committee members. The glory and splendour shown during the celebration resulted from solid understanding and cooperation of the people who worked with their love and hearts in a display of harmony in the district. The consensus and collaboration among the various agencies in the district are evidence of the strong love and respect between the Monarch and the people in Temburong District. This was clearly displayed through the participation of Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, associations, Non-governmental Organisations, NGOs, the private sector, the multi-ethnic community and senior citizens in supporting and lauding His Majesty's caring and wise leadership.
