12 eligible new converts who have fulfilled the requirements have been supported to receive Haj fares from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to perform the Haj this year. The presentation of the Haj Package and financial assistance was held yesterday afternoon at Dewan Multaqa, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The Haj Package payment and financial assistance were handed over by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as the Yang Di-Pertua of the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB. Each new convert has been awarded with His Majesty's Haj fare amounting to 4 thousand 500 dollars. To supplement payments for Darussalam Holding Sendirian Berhad's "Zamrud" Haj Package, which is worth 11 thousand 8 hundred dollars, the intending pilgrims also received 7 thousand 300 dollars as well as financial assistance amounting to 2 thousand dollars from the Tithe Collection for New Converts.

The Minister of Religious Affairs also presented the Haj Package Payments for new converts amounting to 87 thousand 6 hundred dollars to Darussalam Holding Sendirian Berhad. The selection for the new converts were based on interviews and guidelines provided by the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB.
