Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah binti His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the President of the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association yesterday morning graced the association's 10th Community Day celebration. The event took place at the Brunei Darussalam Girl Guides Association's headquarters in Kampung Anggerek Desa.

Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by the event's co-advisors and chairperson. The Community day is one of the association's annual activity.

The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah was led by Dayang Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani, the Association's Spiritual Commissioner. This was followed by the National Anthem, the Girl Guides song and the Asia Pacific Region song.

Dayang Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim, the association's Chief Commissioner, in her welcoming speech among other matters highlighted the format of the 10th Community Day, including a bazaar that carried the theme 'Berdikari Berkongsi Rezeki'.

Her Royal Highness then presented the bazaar's participation certificate to 13 young and senior citizen entrepreneurs. The bazaar acted as a platform to promote and support business development among young and senior citizen entrepreneurs. This year's Community Day theme 'Berdikari Berkongsi Rezeki' was based on the principals of the association, where sustenance can be expanded through sharing with others.

At the event's highlight, Her Royal Highness cut the birthday cake. The special Community Day doa was recited by Dayang Hajah Fatimah binti Haji Abdul Ghani.

Her Royal Highness then launched the 'Berdikari Berkongsi Rezeki' Bazaar. At the event, Her Royal Highness played the 'Toss the Ball into the Basket' game, which was one of the activities lined up by the association's members.

Among the aims of the celebration was to provide exposure and educate the association's members on the culture of serving the community, especially to those in need. At the same time, the celebration also aimed to instil self-esteem, discipline, and teamwork through projects and activities.

The presence of Her Royal Highness at this event portrayed Her Royal Highness' concern towards the development of community, welfare and voluntary projects that were managed and implemented by association's members. Among those in attendance were Datin Paduka Hajah Zahrah binti Haji Idris, Datin Paduka Hajah Jusnani binti Haji Lawie and Datin Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohammad Ali, the association's vice presidents.
