Academic Staff Must Safeguard Official Secret Information with Utmost Integrity

It is imperative for every member of staff to safeguard any official secret information and not to disseminate it through any medium, including social media.
This was said by Pengiran Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Halus, Acting Director of Administration and Services at the Ministry of Education (MoE) during the opening of an induction programme for daily Paid Staff under the MoE was held yesterday at Raja Isteri Girls High School (STPRI).
The four-day programme was attended by 172 people and focuses on their enhancement of knowledge and skills according to the needs and requirements of their respective sections and departments.
Pengiran Haji Rosli emphasised that members of staff in the public sector must adhere to the regulations and principles as enshrined in the Government Official Secrets Act, whereby disciplinary action will be taken for those who violate these existing regulations.
Pengiran Haji Rosli also spoke on the significance of the programme, of which he believed every staff should participate to generate exposure and basic knowledge for their roles. He also expressed his hopes that every member of the community in the department will become role models with integrity as well as with ambition to succeed. He further urged them to work hard to enhance their respective departments. The programme also aims to instil the relevant values and work ethics needed for every member of staff, he added.
The lecturers and presenters in the programme included officers from departments under the Ministry of Education, Internal Security Department and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
