Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Matyassin, the Acting Brunei Muara District Officer in his welcoming remarks among other things expressed the gratitude on His Majesty's presence at the ceremony.

The housing provision for the country's citizens and residents portrays His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's care and attention on the well-being of the people in the country. Of the 860 recipients, 140 recipients were awarded semi-detached houses and 716 recipients were awarded terrace houses under the RPN Panchor Mengkubau and 4 recipients were awarded terrace houses under the STKRJ Kampung Tungku Katok 'A' and Kampung Mata-Mata Katok 'B'.

Since the establishment of the National Housing Scheme, to-date more than 29-thousand houses under the RPN and STKRJ were built nationwide and 27-thousand 379 of them have been awarded to qualified applicants. From the number, more than 18-thousand were applicants from the Brunei Muara District. His Majesty's presence at the house keys presentation portrays the monarch's wish to see more residents in the country own houses and at the same time towards enhancing the life quality of the people.

Towards ensuring the National Housing Scheme is sustainable and stable in meeting the ever increasing number of applicants, the Ministry of Development is currently conducting an overall assessment on the national housing scheme including assessing the housing design and construction quality for future houses.
