His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, watched the national athlete's performance in the weightlifting event for the men's 85 kilogramme category.

In the event, the national athlete Awangku Yusri Amir bin Pengiran Dato Setia Yusof obtained 188 points overall and placed 11th out of 12. The gold medal was won by the athlete from Iraq, while the silver and bronze went to the athletes from South Korea and North Korea respectively.
