His Majesty Audience Ceremony

Yesterday afternoon, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam received in audience Yang Amat Berhormat, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and spouse Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Datin Dr. Siti Hasmah binti Mohd Ali. Both leaders also held a Four-Eye Meeting. The event took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri welcomed Yang Amat Berhormat and wife.
His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri and Yang Amat Berhormat and wife then proceeded to Cheradi Laila Kenchana for the audience ceremony. Also present were Their Majesties sons, daughters and siblings,
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;
- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;
- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;
- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;
- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;
- and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
Also present were Yang Berhormat Dato' Saifuddin bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and Datin as well as senior officials of the Government of Malaysia. Also at the audience ceremony were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd. Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Second Minister of Finance as the Minister-In-Attendance and Datin.
Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia have long established close and friendly relations in various aspects including economy, education, defence and politics. It is hoped the relation will continue and be further improved from time to time for the benefit of the people in both countries. Meanwhile, bilateral trade and investment between the two countries continue to be sustainable and strong with the wider cooperation between the private sectors of both nations.
After the audience ceremony, His Majesty held a Four-Eye Meeting with Yang Amat Berhormat at Cheradi Ratna Kenchana.
His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri and Yang Amat Berhormat and wife then proceeded to Baitul Rahmah for the Official Luncheon.

Doa Selamat was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah expresses His Majesty's belief that the sincere friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia has brought many benefits which have enabled the two countries to cooperate closely in various fields including trade, investment, defence, education, health and tourism.
Touching on the annual meeting of the Brunei Darussalam and Malaysian Heads of Government since 1997, the Monarch says the talks act as an important platform for the two nations to exchange views on bilateral affairs.
In a return address, Yang Amat Berhormat, the Prime Minister of Malaysia also touches on the long existing relations between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
Yang Amat Berhormat highlights cooperation in various fields between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam and hopes the close cooperation will continue for a long time.
Much positive progress have been achieved between the two countries in the last few years. These involve cooperation in immigration, including the Brunei-Malaysia Frequent Travel Programme. The programme facilitates travelling between the two nations and enhances the inter-connectivity among their people.
