A passenger boat from Temburong carrying some 20 people was reported to have been involved in an accident with a water taxi from Limbang, this afternoon. Preliminary reports said that the water taxi was carrying 6 passengers including the operator during the accident in Sungai Rangau.

 According to early sources, the Brunei passenger boat B 4243 was registered under Syarikat Haji Md Sulami.  The Fire and Rescue Department received a call at about 2:18 in the afternoon.  Security agencies comprising the Royal Brunei Police Force and Limbang Fire Department personnel were also at the scene during the search and rescue operation.  The victims were rushed to the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in the capital.  RTB is still waiting for further information on the accident.
