​The Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health, achieved another landmark after being awarded the ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation from the Singapore Laboratory Accreditation Scheme for its 2 laboratory branches in Madaras and Serasa. The accreditation standard is specifically for laboratories that carry out tests and calibrations. A ceremony for presenting Certificates of Recognition was held yesterday morning in the hallway of the Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health.

 Certificates was presented by Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Mohammad Islam bin Haji Jaafar, the Minister of Health. The ceremony among other things was to appreciate the success of the Department of Scientific Services. The achievement will also increase customer confidence in the quality of the service provided by the department as well as the competency of its staff in validating the quality of the analysis provided. Also present was Awang Haji Abdul Manap bin Othman, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health.
