His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of condolences to His Excellency Dato Laila Utama Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, following the recent plane crash of Lion Air JT 610.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his sadness to learn about the tragedy. His Majesty, the Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam conveyed their deepest sympathy and condolences to His Excellency, the Government and the people of the Republic of Indonesia especially to the families affected by the tragedy. In ending the message, His Majesty pray may Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala, will always protect the Republic of Indonesia and hope that the affected families would be strong and patient in facing this tragedy.
