Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam this afternoon graced Her Majesty's Birthday celebration. The function was hosted by the Brunei Darussalam Women's Council, Police Wives and Family Welfare Association, PEKERTI, Brunei Darussalam Nurses Association, PENJURU and the Brunei Shell Ladies Association, BSLA. The function wook place at the Arts and Handicraft Centre at Jalan Residency in the capital.
Upon arrival, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri as the Patron of the Brunei Darussalam Women's Council was greeted by Datin Hajah Dayang Siti Hajar binti Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohd Yusof, the President of the Brunei Darussalam Women's Council as the Chairperson of the Royal Birthday Celebration Committee.
Also in attendance were Her Majesty's daughters and sisters, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah; Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna.
The function began with a reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Kesyukuran by Dayang Noraini Yanti Binti Haji Hussin, Senior religious Officer, Mosque Affairs Department.
The President of the Women's Council in her welcoming speech touched on the activities of the Women's Council at the regional and international levels.
At the function, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri cut the birthday cake and received the Birthday Cake as well as Pesambah presented by the Brunei Darussalam Women's Council, PEKERTI, PENJURU and BSLA.
The function was highlighted with a number of religious presentations from the association members taking part.
Before leaving the function, Her Majesty Raja Isteri together with the members of the royal family received junjung ziarah from the associations' members. The Brunei Darussalam Women's Council is a national non-government council made up of 13 women's associations and organisations in the country comprising PERTIWI, WI, Girl Guides, PKP Belait, PGGMB, BAKTI, BISTARI, PERGANITA, Women's Graduates, BAKANITA, PERBEKAL, PEWAJA and Nurul Islam.
