The 24th Annual Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Exercise in Brunei Darussalam has concluded yesterday morning with a Closing Ceremony held at the Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC), Royal Brunei Navy in Muara.
The closing ceremony was officiated by the Rear Admiral Murray Joe Tynch the Third, Commander, Logistics Group Western Pacific, United States Navy. Speaking at the ceremony, Rear Admiral Tynch, said that with Brunei and United States military relations entering its fourth decade, the CARAT exercise has achieved significant milestones. He added, the interoperability between the two military forces continues to improve and the involvement of multiple government departments underscores the overarching role CARAT plays in capacity building.
CARAT Brunei 2018 continues to serve as a credible avenue in sharing best practices, strengthening cooperation in response to shared maritime security challenges and in enhancing interoperability among participating forces of both countries. The five-day exercise covers land-based and at-sea trainings. The exercise involved personnel and assets from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Navy, Royal Brunei Air Force, Medical teams and Military Legal Unit as well as other government departments.
