The 'SMS' Brunei Prihatin is one of the efforts by the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans to diversify its methods or mechanisms for the public to channel their donations. The 'SMS' Brunei Prihatin for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans for the year 2018-2019 began yesterday until the 31st of January 2019. In 2017-2018, 84 thousand 143 dollars were collected through the 'SMS' Brunei Prihatin for the Fund.

The launch of the SMS Brunei Prihatin was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence as the First Deputy Chairman of the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans Board of Trustees. DST and Progresif Cellular users can make donations by typing DANA followed by the amount to be donated either 1, 5, 10, 15 or 20, without space and send to 38111. The function ran concurrently with the presentation of donations in the form of coupons to orphans, which can be used to purchase school stationery and necessities for 2019. The coupons were presented to officers from the four districts, who will then hand over the donations to orphans nationwide through village chiefs. Three thousand seven hundred and seventeen orphans registered with the DANA Secretariat will each receive a 70-dollar coupon donation.
