Brunei Darussalam will determine the start of Ramadhan on Sunday evening, 29th Syaaban 1437 Hijrah corresponding to the 5th of June 2016.

Syar'ie Judges and officials from the Syariah Courts, State Judicial Department, along with officers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Survey Department, Ministry of Development and the State Mufti, Prime Minister's Office will be at selected vantage points to sight for the moon.

For Brunei-Muara District, key sighting areas are located at DST Tower of its headquarters at Tungku Highway and Bukit Agok in Jerudong; Bukit Lumut in the Belait District and Bukit Ambok in the Tutong district.

The result of the sighting will be announced on Radio and Television Brunei.

Members of the public are asked to give their cooperation by not venturing closer to those areas.
