​According to this year's statistics up to November 2018, a total of 359 individuals have embraced Islam nationwide. A Chinese woman embraced Islam as her life's faith yesterday afternoon. The conversion ceremony took place at the residence of Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohammad Aziyan bin Abdullah in Kampong Batang Mitus, Tutong District.

Dayang Leady Elezabard Yong is now known as Dayang Naira Zaheera binti Abdullah Yong. Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja (Retired) Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yusof, the Second Minister of Defence. The ceremony was further enlivened with a dikir marhaban, followed by the reading of doa selamat. Also in attendance was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Umarali bin Esong, Member of the Legislative Council and officers from Tutong Da'wah Unit, Islamic Da'wah Centre.
