90 Youth Development Program trainees received their certificates at the Passing out Parade of the Youth Development Program Trainee Course for the July 2018 Session. The ceremony took place yesterday morning at the Youth Development Centre in Kampung Tanah Jambu.

Certificates were presented by Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, Permanent Secretary for Municipal and District at the Ministry of Home Affairs.  At this program, 28 selected best trainees received awards in their respective categories.  Best overall program awards for 2018 session were given to Awang Muhd Wazien bin Shahrin and Dayang Siti Nuraimee binti Awang Abdul Rahman.  The 6-month Self-Development Program aimed to expose the trainees to charitable extra-curricular activities towards enhancing their discipline, health and endurance as well as act as a platform to strengthen relations.

The trainees will undergo a 6-month work placement program in the government and private sectors according to the skills course undertaken while at the Youth Development Centre.  The Centre's Acting Assistant Director as Head of the Youth Development Centre shared some of the centre's developments from the aspect of courses on offer.  Awang Haswandi bin Haji Osman said that the centre is offering 10 courses to youths who are currently seeking employment.  A number of short term courses are also carried out in collaboration with a number of government agencies based on job market needs in Brunei Darussalam.
